Ingredients

For the Filling:

  • ¼ cup 50g brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp 28g unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

For the Roll-Ups:

  • 8 slices soft white sandwich bread crusts removed
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup 60ml whole milk
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp 28g unsalted butter (for frying)
  • 2 tbsp 25g granulated sugar (for coating)
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon for coating

Optional Toppings:

  • Maple syrup powdered sugar, or fresh berries

Instructions

Prepare the Filling

  • In a small bowl, I mix ¼ cup brown sugar, 2 tbsp softened butter, and 1 tsp cinnamon until smooth, creating a sweet spread for these cinnamon toast rolls.

Flatten and Fill Bread

  • I remove crusts from 8 bread slices and flatten each with a rolling pin. I spread a thin layer of cinnamon filling on each slice, leaving a small border, and roll tightly, sealing the seam for secure Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups.

Make the Batter

  • In a shallow bowl, I whisk 2 eggs, ¼ cup milk, and ½ tsp vanilla until smooth, preparing a rich batter for these sweet roll-up treats.

Fry the Roll-Ups

  • I heat 2 tbsp butter in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. I dip each roll-up in the batter, coating evenly, and fry seam-side down for 2–3 minutes per side until golden, ensuring crispy Cinnamon Roll French Toast Roll-Ups.

Coat and Serve

  • I mix 2 tbsp granulated sugar with ½ tsp cinnamon. I roll the warm roll-ups in the cinnamon-sugar mix for extra sweetness, then serve these sweet roll-up treats immediately.

Notes

Make use of cream cheese with full fat to get the smoothest texture.
Let it completely cool before cutting for straight cuts.
Warm leftovers a bit prior to serving them for the freshly baked taste
