Ingredients

For the Dressing:

  • 3/4 cup full-fat mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup full-fat sour cream
  • 2.5 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 3 tsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp celery salt
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • Black pepper to taste

For the Salad:

  • 14-16 oz coleslaw mix green cabbage, red cabbage, and carrots

Instructions

  • Make the Dressing: In a medium bowl, whisk together 3/4 cup mayonnaise, 1/4 cup sour cream, 2.5 tbsp white vinegar, 1/2 tsp Dijon mustard, 3 tsp sugar, 1 tsp celery salt, 1/4 tsp onion powder, and black pepper to taste until smooth. Adjust seasoning as needed.
  • Prepare the Salad: Place 14-16 oz coleslaw mix in a large mixing bowl. If using homemade mix, shred 1 medium head of green cabbage, 1/2 head of red cabbage, and 1 large carrot to yield about 8 cups.
  • Toss and Chill: Pour the dressing over the coleslaw mix and toss thoroughly to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour (or up to 1 day) to let the flavors meld and the cabbage soften slightly.
  • Serve: Toss again before serving to redistribute the dressing. Serve chilled with scissor salad tongs for easy portioning, perfect for a Summer Recipe at barbecues or picnics.
