- 40 salted saltine crackers
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil.
Place saltine crackers in a single layer on the lined baking sheet.
Mix granulated sugar and ground cinnamon in a small bowl. Set aside.
In a small saucepan, melt butter and brown sugar over medium heat. Bring to a boil and let it boil for about 3 minutes until it reaches a deep caramel color.
Pour the caramel mixture over the saltine crackers, spreading it evenly.
Bake the caramel-covered crackers for 5 to 6 minutes, or until the caramel is bubbly.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle white chocolate chips evenly over the top. Let them sit for about 5 minutes to melt, then spread into an even layer.
While the white chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the top.
Allow the toffee to cool completely. Refrigerate for about 10 minutes to help set the white chocolate. Break the toffee into pieces to serve.
- For a richer flavor, you can use dark chocolate or milk chocolate instead of white chocolate.
- Ensure the caramel reaches a deep color before pouring over the crackers to achieve the perfect texture.
- Store the toffee in an airtight container to keep it fresh and crunchy.
