- ½ cup (120g) sweet potato puree
- ¾ cup (105g) all purpose (plain) flour *can sub with ¾ cup oat flour (110g)
- 1½ tbsp olive oil
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- ¼ tsp garlic powder
- ¼ tsp onion powder
- ¼ teaspoon baking powder
- ¼ tsp salt *adjust to taste. Skip if making for a baby/toddler.
Prepare the Dough
In a large bowl, combine sweet potato puree, flour, olive oil, baking powder, salt, and your chosen spices.
Mix and knead until a soft dough forms. If it's sticky, add more flour (1 tablespoon at a time).
Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
Roll and Cut
Lightly flour a clean work surface.
Roll the dough to about 3mm (⅛ inch) thickness for crispy crackers.
Use a sharp knife, pizza cutter, or cookie cutter to cut the dough into small squares or fun shapes.
Bake the Crackers
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Place the crackers on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Poke small holes in each cracker with a toothpick to prevent air bubbles.
Bake for 18-20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crisp.
Let the crackers cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
-
Chill the Dough: Refrigerating the dough makes it easier to roll and prevents cracking.
-
Customize the Flavor: Add your favorite herbs or spices for a unique twist.
-
Thickness Matters: Roll thinner dough for crispier crackers or thicker for a softer bite.
-
Watch Closely: Ovens vary, so keep an eye on the crackers to prevent burning.
- *Crackers are a potential choking hazard for under 2 year olds. Dough should be rolled thick for a softer texture. Please refer to Recipe FAQ section for more details.
